I was shocked by Ban-ye’s blunt words and, stunned, typed tearfully.
[Friend][Ah-ang] Then what do I do? I’m so upset…
[Friend][Ban-ye] Play 24/7.
[Friend][Ah-ang] What?
[Friend][Ban-ye] Ha… First, I need to assess if you can even hunt.
[Friend][Ban-ye] Do you have a Discord ID?
At that question, I recalled the Discord I used with Kwon Da-jung. Of course, I had blocked him, but the slightly unpleasant feeling lingered.
Seeing me hesitate without replying, Ban-ye, thinking I didn’t have a Discord ID, sent me a link and pressed me to create one.
[Friend][Ban-ye] You don’t know Discord?
[Friend][Ah-ang] I have one.
[Friend][Ban-ye] Add #****
I liked Ban-ye, but I hadn’t planned on using Discord with them… Trying to hide my embarrassment, I eventually joined their Discord server.
[Hwang Hyun-joong]
‘Is that Ban-ye’s real name?’
My Discord name was the couple nickname I used with Kwon Da-jung, [CallCall], so I quickly changed it to [Ah-ang].
Ban-ye didn’t react to the name change. And when they asked me to join the voice channel, I ended up hearing their voice.
“Ah-ang.”
Ban-ye called my nickname in a low, gentle voice.
“Uh… yes?”
Their voice was nicer than I expected, making my reply hesitant. Ban-ye then instructed me to share my screen.
“Turn on screen sharing.”
“Why?”
“So I can see your stats.”
Stats…? What did they mean?
I was curious, but my hands dutifully followed Ban-ye’s instructions. I logged into my account, turned on screen sharing, and showed them various things as they instructed.
Ban-ye asked to see my stat window, equipment window, and inventory. Every time I showed them something, they sighed.
“This is serious.”
“…Why?”
“The fact that you don’t know why is the serious part.”
I felt a little intimidated and scolded, which wasn’t pleasant… Meanwhile, Ban-ye pressed me to try hunting.
I hurriedly consumed potions and plastered myself with buff items before heading to a hunting ground.
[Bloody Moon!]
I unleashed the strongest skill in the [Lilith] skillset.
Ban-ye observed me hunting for exactly three minutes, then asked,
“Did you get carried to 144?”
“Huh? Uh…”
I couldn’t say that Kwon Da-jung had leveled me up… So, I reluctantly replied, “Yes…”
“That’s what I thought.”
“Why?”
“You’re too slow.”
“Well, I’m obviously not as good as you, Ban-ye.”
“I’m not comparing you to me. You’re just bad at the game.”
“…”
My pride was hurt, and I shut my mouth.
But Ban-ye, unconcerned with my feelings, muttered to themself,
“I don’t have time to teach you everything…”
Hearing Ban-ye’s mumbling, a good idea came to mind, and I suggested,
“You can carry me, Ban-ye.”
Ban-ye sighed, as if suppressing something, and replied,
“Sigh… Of course I will, but you also need to know how to hunt if you want to reach max level in a week.”
“Huh?”
“Did you think you could reach 200 just by getting carried?”
“Oh… I can’t?”
“No.”
“Oh.”
I finally understood the situation and what Ban-ye was worried about.
Ban-ye couldn’t carry me all day, so I needed to be able to hunt during the remaining time… The problem was, after seeing me hunt, they realized how bad I was.
‘What do I do?’
Then, Ban-ye said,
“Can you give me your account ID and password?”
“Huh? Why…?”
“So I can adjust your skills and stuff.”
“But…”
Even if it was Ban-ye, wasn’t this a bit sketchy?
The feeling from when I thought Ban-ye had scammed me resurfaced. Besides, my account had a lot of [Royal Kits]… and quite a bit of gold…
As if reading my hesitation, Ban-ye asked in a slightly irritated tone,
“Are you worried I’ll steal your account?”
It was a condescending tone, as if asking, ‘Do you think I, Rank 3 in Chaos Online and guild master of the top guild on the server, would steal from you?’
In the end, I had no choice but to give Ban-ye my ID and password.
“Keep watching through screen sharing.”
“Okay…”
Still feeling uneasy, I timidly asked,
“Can’t you give me your account info too?”
But Ban-ye chuckled and refused.
“No. I’ll give you my alt account instead.”
“Alt account?”
“Yes.”
In the end, I had to settle for logging into Ban-ye’s alt account. We swapped accounts and logged into Chaos Online side-by-side.
[Entering the world of exciting adventures and sparkling cards…]
Once loading was complete, I logged into Ban-ye’s alt account, [Ban-yeStorage].
Ban-yeStorage was a true storage character, with a level even lower than my main account. It seemed to be used solely for listing auction items. It wasn’t even in a guild… Everything was desolate.
[‘Ah-ang’ has sent you a friend request.]
[Yes] [No]
At that moment, Ban-ye, logged into my account, sent me a friend request. I clicked [Yes].
That was fine, but… Ban-ye said coldly on Discord,
“Your inventory… It’s really messy. Don’t you organize it?”
“Huh?”
“I need to take care of this first.”
What was so messy about it?
With a mix of anxiety and curiosity, I watched the screen Ban-ye was sharing. They were organizing my items at an incredible speed.
Multiple stacks of the same item were scattered everywhere, but they were gathering them all in one place and neatly arranging them according to their own criteria.
My chaotic inventory was suddenly beautifully organized by color.
I checked Ban-yeStorage’s inventory, just in case, and it was also neatly organized, just like how Ban-ye had organized mine, making me wonder if this was their usual habit.
“Wow… you’re so organized.”
“Don’t touch it after this.”
“Okay!”
I was happy that Ban-ye was organizing it for me. It was convenient.
Since my inventory was always a mess, I kept buying cash shop items to expand it, so it was fascinating to suddenly have so much free space.
I could have saved money on those cash shop items if I had just organized it earlier. So, I obediently followed Ban-ye’s words.
But Ban-ye’s nagging didn’t end there.
“Why haven’t you allocated 50 skill points?”
“I’ve already learned all the skills I want.”
“You need to level up too.”
“Hmm… It hasn’t been a problem so far.”
“Unbelievable.”
Ban-ye, without asking further, boldly clicked on [Skill Reset] and started assigning skill points according to their own preference.
For reference, I wasn’t a [Mage] like Ban-ye, but a [Lilith], the new character that had recently been released.
Ban-ye was magic-based, and I was physical-based, making us polar opposites, but they didn’t seem to mind.
Well, judging by the fact they didn’t even ask me how I wanted my skills allocated, they probably had zero expectations. It was more comfortable for me too since I didn’t know much and preferred not to be asked.
Honestly, I had chosen Lilith simply because I heard she was strong, but I wasn’t sure if it was true.
The Lilith I played was a difficult character who moved erratically, had high burst damage but low HP, and died easily.
But Ban-ye efficiently assigned skill points, rearranged my hotkeys, and immediately went hunting.
“There’s an Attack Syrup in your consumables…!”
“Let’s try without it.”
Ban-ye didn’t even use stat-boosting potions, unlike me.
I knew Ban-ye was incredibly skilled with the Mage class, but I doubted they could perform well as a Lilith, especially with my measly level 144 account.
But Ban-ye… truly deserved to be called a god.
“No way…!”
[Bloody Moon!]
The [Bloody Moon] skill, which I had used just moments ago, unfolded once again from my character’s whip.
However, the result was completely different.
Unlike my Ah-ang, who barely managed to kill five monsters even with Attack Syrup, Ban-ye’s Ah-ang took down ten monsters in one hit and pulled the aggro of another ten monsters behind them.
In other words, they quadrupled the number of targets.
[Vamp Hold]
And Ban-ye pulled the ten charging monsters with their whip, drawing them in front of Ah-ang like magnets, then—
[Lilith’s Kiss]
[Mmm, smooch ♥]
—used a skill.
The skill was [Lilith’s Kiss]. When used on a monster, it reduced the monster’s HP and restored my own.
However, I was stunned because I had never known [Lilith’s Kiss] could be used like that.
Ban-ye said, sounding impressed,
“Wow, I don’t even need health potions. This is broken.”
“Isn’t that… an emote?”
“What?”
No, when I used it, it was so weak that the HP recovery was negligible…
But Ban-ye seemed to have completely misunderstood, treating me like a complete idiot.
“You…”
“No, that’s not what I meant…”
I wanted to clear up Ban-ye’s misunderstanding, as they seemed to think I was pathetic, but they barely listened to my explanation and focused on hunting.
And I… well, I didn’t care if they misunderstood. I was too engrossed in watching Ban-ye’s fantastic gameplay to feel upset or notice the passage of time.
